This actually makes total sense when you look at who the Nobel people are, these elite Norwegians, Europeans. They love what Obama is doing. And this fully exposes, folks, the illusion that is Obama. This is a greater embarrassment than losing the Olympics bid was. And with this award -- and Obama got it right. He knows exactly why he was given this award. The elites of the world are urging him, a man of peace, to not do the surge in Afghanistan. They are urging him to not take on Iran. That's what this -- if you want to get serious about it for a minute, is what this is really all about. How can he now send 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan after that-- that cotton candy speech he just gave this morning?

The Nobel Peace Prize just told Obama, Look, we love what you're doing, you are destroying your country as a superpower. Keep it up, bud! This is what we expected, and you're doing a damn good job. Those are accomplishments, folks, and in the eyes of the Nobel Peace Prize committee, these are the accomplishments they're looking for. He's basically emasculating this country, and they applauded today with this award. More than anything, this award shows that when you really thank God George Bush, Nobel Prize in Afghanistan and that we are sending more soldiers. We understand the impulse, is not impressed with Bush's leadership. But later, when peace broke out, and that is like Obama? , Or for the missile defense system in Eastern Europe fell for the scheme or simply because it's just taking office nine months in countries invaded anyone? Less cynically, Obama may have won the prize because he inspires hope in so many people in so many places. That's a real gift, and something that may pay many dividends for Americans and others. This is not the first time the Nobel Peace Prize caused a good deal of head-scratching. Today, the political right is howling about Obama's prize, but the left was apoplectic in 1973 when, during the Vietnam War, then-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger won the Peace Prize, along with North Vietnamese Politburo Member Le Duc Tho, for arranging a cease fire that didn't last. Kissinger was seen by many as one of the architects of an immoral war. Obama, himself, seemed to recognize the preposterousness of the award. Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday, he said he wasn't sure he had done enough to earn the award, or even deserved to be in the company of the others who had won it before him, including just two other sitting American presidents, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Instead, Obama wisely spun it forward, saying he would accept it "as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century."
