rhabdo

rhabdo
What have I done today that I was proud of? Do not eat the oreos! Yet. And before you get into the episode, I would like to thank all of you dear people who wrote to weigh the theory of a heart attack, Tracey.Though there was some support for the theory, a number of people (some of whom were doctors and nurses and others of whom had read or heard about it somewhere) seemed pretty certain that Tracey had rhabdomyolysis
One nurse practitioner explained it as such: "Rhabdomyolysis is when there is extreme muscle wasting, and the muscles begin to break down into the kidneys. It can happen in cases with severe dehydration (likely Tracey), and extreme exercise (there's no way her body was used to running a mile). Thing about rhabdo is, your muscles CONTINUE to break down for days. So while she was hospitalized, I'm sure she would have been on IV fluids to rehydrate her, and more or less "flush" the toxins out. Plus, that's why the number went UP even after she was out of the hospital." A med student also wrote, "CPK is released from the muscles when they are injured -- in the muscle, it's a marker for crush injury, muscular dystrophy, and yes, strenuous exercise
Crazy Tracey so probably just worked harder than he is a very long time, and his muscles were, "What the hell ?!?!' and all the injuries and whatnot. This seems to be the most likely scenario. "As much as I love a conspiracy theory, it may actually be the devil to help Tracey, and the producer to fix it quietly.
